The GMCET-2022 is an all South Asia GLOBAL MEDIA COMMON ENTRANCE TEST that offers admission to the Undergraduate media courses. GMCET 2022, as the name suggests have global footprints with institutes & universities participation from India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and many more countries, scheduled in the months of April to September, once each month, this year.

The exam is powered by edInbox, South Asia’s largest education focussed platform. With an expected 5000+ registrations for GMCET-2022, it is poised to be India’s largest undergraduate media aspirants’ base.

Eligibility Criteria

UG Course BA-JMC & BJMC, BMS (Bachelor of Media Studies), BMC (Bachelor of Mass Communication), BMM (Bachelor of Mass Media), BA (Media & Communication), BSc (Animation & Graphics), BSc (Media Technologies) : The Candidates must have a minimum education qualification of Higher Secondary (10+2) or any equivalent Education with a minimum aggregate of 50% for General Category & 45% for SC/ST/OBC or should be appearing for the same in 2022.

A candidate with a three or four-year diploma, from a recognized university approved by AICTE with a minimum of 50% marks can also apply.

GMCET 2022 Application Form

The application form for GMCET 2022 can be filled online only through the official portal :

Candidates will have to fill the application with all the relevant and valid information after making sure that they satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria for the examination. The application form will not be available in any other mode.

Application Fee :

Interested candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of INR 1000/- to be able to take up the examination. The candidature of an individual will be confirmed only after the payment of the application fee.

How to Register?

  2. Register for the examination by providing all the required details and make sure that they are valid and correct.
  3. An automated email with Username & Password will be sent to your registered email ID/Phone Number for future references.
  4. After logging in to the portal, complete the payment by clicking on Pay Now
  5. Proceed to the payment portal and choose Credit/Debit Card/Net Banking or UPI as per your choice
  6. After successful completion, you would receive the Application form summary on your GMCET profile page as well as on your registered email ID. Download the Application form summary & save it for future references.

Important Instructions for Exam

GMCET exam duration is one hour having 100 multiple choice questions with only one correct answer. The exam will be of a total of 100 marks and checks the student’s ability in four sections, with all multiple-choice questions. The GMCET assesses basic knowledge of the applicant in these four areas, with 25 questions in each segment: (A) English Language & IQ; (B) General Knowledge of News & Current Affairs; (C) Entertainment Media Knowledge; and (D) Brands & Brand Communication Basic Knowledge.

The GMCET 2022 exam will be conducted in Online Mode. Candidates will be given a time slot to appear for the exam. Candidates are requested to appear at least 15 minutes before the beginning of the examination. The test slots for the exam day will be informed a day before the examination on your registered email and mobile number.

Global Media Education Council

GMCET is a first of its kind of initiative of GMEC , to standardise the assessment of aspiring graduates of media industry.

  • The GMEC with its illustrious members from various fields contributes to the learning approaches, tools and techniques, and also in selecting the best entry-level talent in media educational institutes.
  • The Council shall work as a bridge among the three stakeholders: media educators (institutes), learners (trainees) and the industry (recruiters).
  • The Council is being established in India, first through a non-profit organization by Indian law. Gradually it will have national chapters, apart from a global body.
